Ruthega® SeqFlow – Ruthenium process

Functional, durable, and environmentally friendly.

Ruthenium coatings uniquely combine electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance – offering precisely the properties required in demanding applications.

Our electroplating ruthenium process is a future-proof, environmentally friendly alternative to chromium(VI) coatings. It is ideal for components subject to high electrical and mechanical stress – for example, in electrical engineering, connectors, or the printing industry, where reliability and corrosion protection are crucial.

What makes Ruthega® SeqFlow so special?

Ruthega® SeqFlow

Powerful, reliable, and environmentally friendly

Where conventional coatings reach their limits, ruthenium unfolds its full potential. Ruthenium is ideal for highly technical functional parts that must withstand both mechanical stress and chemical attack.

Ruthenium coated aluminum plug contacts

In electrical engineering, contact resistance, contact stability, and corrosion protection are among the decisive factors for reliable connections. Our electroplated ruthenium coating provides an exceptionally hard, abrasion-resistant surface with excellent electrical contact properties.

Do you need an alternative to black chrome?

With the optional blackness additive, the process offers an attractive alternative to black chrome coatings – with a slightly lighter and elegant appearance.

Ruthenium-coated printing cylinders – the high-performance alternative
to chromium(VI)

In the modern printing industry, durability, precision, and cost-effectiveness are key. Our ruthenium electroplating process offers the ideal solution for heavily used printing rollers and cylinders – as a high-performance alternative to conventional hard chrome coatings (chromium(IV)).

Thanks to their extreme hardness and exceptional abrasion resistance, ruthenium coatings ensure a significantly longer service life and consistent print quality – even with the highest print runs. At the same time, their outstanding corrosion resistance reliably protects your rollers from chemical attack by inks, cleaning agents, and dampening solutions.

Insights into the layer structure of Ruthega® SeqFlow

Our Ruthega® SeqFlow guarantees the highest coating quality through careful, multi-stage pretreatment and precise control of all process steps:

Ruthega® SeqFlow – Ruthenium coating for aluminum plug contacts

Precise pretreatment is crucial for reliable and uniform ruthenium coating on aluminum plug contacts. The components are carefully cleaned, activated, and prepared with suitable intermediate layers to ensure optimal adhesion. The final ruthenium layer is deposited electrolytically.
