Platinum coating up to 10 µm – crack-free, homogeneous, brilliant

We are in the final development phase of a new platinum electrolyte that enables the deposition of exceptionally thick platinum layers up to 10 µm—crack-free, homogeneous, and with very uniform thickness distribution. Our innovation is specifically designed for applications that require Platinum coating up to 10 µm.
Platinum is in demand wherever surfaces must withstand mechanical stress, offer corrosion resistance, and provide the highest electrical conductivity. At the same time, platinum is valued in decorative applications when brilliance, color neutrality, and long-term durability are essential.
Pure platinum electrolyte without yellow tinge
The strongly acidic platinum electrolyte Platega pure is used to deposit smooth, crack-free platinum layers. The deposited layers impress with brilliant shine and – unlike conventional platinum coatings – remain free of any yellowish tint, even when Platinum coating up to 10 µm is required.
In addition, the electrolyte has a low sulfuric acid content and is therefore less aggressive toward the component’s base material. The deposition rate is independent of current density, resulting in an optimal thickness distribution. Compared with rhodium, platinum offers an economic advantage and is also perceived as more premium, especially for those looking for Platinum coating up to 10 µm.
What our electrolyte shows in tests:
- Crack-free layers up to 10 µm of Platinum coating possible
- Very even layer thickness distribution
- Layer density 21.4 g/cm³
- Hardness approx. 350 HV
- Very bright & shiny (L* value approx. 87) – no yellowing
- High abrasion resistance
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Very good tarnish resistance
- Biocompatibility
- Easy handling – no precipitation
This opens up opportunities ranging from sensor and contact technology to jewellery, watches, and fittings – wherever both functionality and aesthetics are required, Platinum coating reaching up to 10 µm guarantees exceptional results.
Decorative
Jewellery, watches, writing instruments, eyewear frames, fittings—for surfaces that remain brilliantly bright while withstanding mechanical and chemical stress.
Technical
Contact surfaces/connectors, sensors & electrodes, components in aggressive environments – wherever platinum delivers its strengths (conductivity, resistance, stability) and a thicker layer provides added robustness.
