Crodega® SeqFlow
Chrome(III) coating –
the environmentally friendly chrome plating
In contract electroplating, we offer high-quality chrome(III) coatings (Cr3+) on brass—a modern, environmentally friendly alternative to chrome(VI) coating. Our process is REACH-compliant, meets the highest requirements for corrosion resistance, appearance, and function, and is suitable for both technical and decorative applications.

Technical features
Slightly bluish sheen (L* = 84 bis 85, a = -0,3 bis -0,8, b = -0,3 bis 0,8) – similar to that of hexavalent chromium.
Corrosion resistance tested according to ÖNORM EN ISO 9227 (salt spray test)
Layer thickness 0.1 – 0.5 µm
What makes Crodega® SeqFlow so special?
Crodega® SeqFlow: For many areas of application

Decorative applications
In addition to their outstanding technical performance, Cr3+ coated parts also meet the highest design standards. The Crodega® SeqFlow process produces a bright, shiny surface with an appearance very similar to classic chrome(VI) coating – but significantly more environmentally friendly and fully REACH-compliant.
The chrome(III) coating gives writing instruments and accessories an elegant, metallic surface with a high-quality look and feel. This makes them the ideal solution for products that aim to combine design, quality, and sustainability.
Functional applications
With Crodega® SeqFlow, we not only achieve an attractive appearance, but also meet the highest functional requirements in industrial applications. Conductivity, corrosion protection, adhesive strength, and mechanical resilience are particularly important in electrical engineering and the automotive industry – properties that our Crodega® SeqFlow process reliably delivers.

Insights into the layer structure of the processes
Our Crodega® SeqFlow Cr3+ process stands for controlled process reliability and the highest surface quality in the electroplating of chrome parts.
The layer structure ensures optimum adhesion, brilliant shine, and long-lasting protection.
Crodega® SeqFlow – Chromium(III) on brass base materials
Our chrome(III) coating process represents modern, environmentally friendly electroplating technology at the highest level. In a precisely coordinated multi-layer process, the surface of the component is first intensively pretreated, degreased, and activated. This is followed by functional layers of copper and nickel – including a chemically deposited nickel-phosphorus layer that provides excellent corrosion and wear resistance. A bright nickel layer provides an even, decorative finish before the final Cr3+ layer is applied. This not only gives the component its typical high-quality appearance, but also meets the highest requirements for hardness and durability. A final passivation provides additional protection and ensures long-lasting shine.
