Nidega® chem SeqFlow

The chemical nickel process for precision, protection and function

The chemical nickel process is the ideal solution for components with high requirements in terms of corrosion protection, abrasion resistance and dimensional accuracy. The external current-free deposition process produces an absolutely level coating – even on complex geometries, drill holes and internal contours.
Whether aluminium, brass or iron: with layer thicknesses of 8 to 50 µm, we specifically improve the technical properties of your workpieces – for durable, resilient and functional surfaces.
Depending on the phosphorus content, we offer solutions with magnetic or non-magnetic properties, high hardness or excellent chemical resistance.

The advantages of all Nidega® chem SeqFlow processes

Nidega® chem SeqFlow process at a glance:

Highest performance for aluminium, iron and brass

Aluminium, brass and iron are essential in industrial manufacturing – each material has specific advantages, but also disadvantages when it comes to corrosion protection, wear resistance or chemical resistance. With our Nidega® chem SeqFlow chemical nickel process, we refine these metals specifically for demanding applications – reliably, precisely and economically.
Whether abrasion-resistant and high in hardness, non-magnetic or highly chemically resistant, we offer two specialised coating solutions that are optimally tailored to different material requirements and operating conditions:

Nidega® chem mid P SeqFlow

A compromise between hardness and corrosion protection for your aluminium parts

Increased corrosion protection for aluminium: Our chemical nickel mid P coating (5-9% phosphorus) provides reliable protection for aluminium – even in aggressive environments such as salt water or chemicals.
Higher hardness and wear resistance: With approx. 500-600 HV, aluminium becomes noticeably more robust. Ideal for heavy mechanical loads.
Uniform layer thickness: Even with complex geometries or internal contours, a uniform coating is achieved – perfect for precision components.
Certified quality: Our processes comply with ÖNORM EN ISO 4527:2003 – for consistently high quality and safety.

Nidega® chem high P SeqFlow

Maximum corrosion protection and visually appealing for aluminium, iron and brass

Corrosion protection similar to Stainless steel: Our high-phosphorus chemical nickel coating behaves almost like stainless steel and reliably protects aluminium – even against acids, chlorides or oxidising agents.
Ideal for magnetically sensitive applications: The high P layer is completely non-magnetic – making it the perfect choice for electronic, medical or other systems where magnetic influences could cause interference.
Smooth, non-porous surface with a high-quality appearance:
Thanks to its amorphous structure, the surface is particularly smooth and low in pores. This gives aluminum components additional functionality and a high-quality, aesthetic appearance — ideal for visible components or design-relevant applications.
High protection with good formability
The coating remains flexible and formable – ideal for assembly processes without any loss of quality.

Insights into the layer structure of the processes

Functionality begins with precision in aluminium pre-treatment

Careful pre-treatment is essential for a strong and even chemical nickel coating. Our multi-stage process combines mechanical and chemical cleaning steps with specially tailored activation of the base material. This reliably removes impurities, oxide layers and burrs and prepares the surface specifically for nickel deposition.

Nidega® chem mid P SeqFlow – on Aluminium

Following pre-treatment, a mid-P nickel-phosphorus layer (9% P) is deposited without current – evenly, with few pores and excellent adhesion, even on complex geometries.
Our layer structure ensures long-lasting functionality and high-quality surfaces on aluminium.

Nidega® chem high P SeqFlow – on Aluminium, Iron and Brass Base

The next step in the process involves the electroless deposition of a high-P nickel-phosphorus layer (approx. 11% P) – pore-free, adhesive and with a high-quality appearance.
