Platega® blend Rh is a high-performance acidic rhodium–platinum electrolyte for a brilliant white rhodium appearance up to 0.6 µm layer thickness. It was developed for industrial applications with high volumes, short cycle times and maximum process reliability. The higher precious metal concentration enables faster deposition, greater stability and reproducible results.

  • – Maximum performance & throughput
  • – Identical appearance to the eco variant
  • – RoHS & REACH compliant

High-performance electrolyte for maximum throughput

Why Platega® blend Rh?

When process speed, headroom and stability are critical, Platega® blend Rh is the right choice.
It offers maximum performance with an identical appearance compared with the eco variant.

Features & Benefits

  • Faster deposition → higher throughput
  • Higher precious metal content → more stable process
  • Very white, brilliant surfaces (L* = 89, a = +1, b = +4)
  • High reproducibility & process reliability
  • RoHS and REACH compliant
  • Cost-effective alternative to pure rhodium electrolytes

Application

  • Series jewellery production
  • Eyewear and watch industry
  • Electrical contacts
  • Demanding electronic components

FAQ

Why should I choose Platega® blend Rh instead of the eco variant?

Platega® blend Rh offers higher process performance and faster deposition. When short cycle times, high process reliability and reproducible results are critical, this variant is the better choice.

What is the advantage compared with Platega® blend Rh eco?

  • Faster plating → higher throughput
  • Higher precious metal content → more stable, more robust process
  • Larger operating window for challenging applications
  • Higher layer thicknesses possible
  • More headroom for demanding applications and series production

Is there any downside compared with the eco variant?

Yes – due to the higher precious metal content, the initial bath cost is higher and drag-out losses are greater than with Platega® blend Rh eco. For very thin layers or strongly cost-driven applications, the eco variant may be more economical.

Does the appearance differ from the eco version?

No. Appearance, whiteness and the rhodium look are identical.
The difference is not in the result, but in performance vs cost-effectiveness.
